The software manages sequence alignment, assembly, and analysis tasks in a variety of scientific fields. Geneious Prime is a bioinformatics software solution with some LIMS-like features. Geneious Biologics is a version of Geneious Prime that "consolidates data in a secure and shareable cloud environment, speeding up candidate selection and ensuring reproducibility." Technology and products Geneious Biologics and Prime īiomatters was awarded the Microsoft Hi-Tech Emerging Company Award in May 2012. In 2009, Biomatters jointly won the University of Auckland Business School Entrepreneurs' Challenge, which awarded them a loan to expand operations overseas. In the fall of 2018, the company announced it would be changing the name of its Geneious product to Geneious Prime.
In the fall of 2011, Biomatters opened its first offices in the United States "in response to growing customer demand." 2.1.3 Demonstration videos and other mediaīiomatters was founded in 2003 and released Geneious in 2005.
